How to create 3d character rig in Maya application?


Introduction:

The 3d character making with reference images, by taking photos from camera of boy front and side view, then only you can do it or draw any boy character in paper and take photos with same length of boy height and size. while doing modeling in maya, need to focus on polygons like low polygon can easily do the task. when doing modeling of character first focus on head and body, in body require legs and hands to do rigging easily in a good way. by doing with wire frame and images front and side in transparency, you can do perfect method by using this.

Modeling 3d character:

The modeling is star with legs, chest, neck and hips, will create in such a way you can modeling easily in different parts by separating the parts, after doing legs check with smooth by pressing the key "3". After observed the smooth you can find the wrong or error on task, the press the key "1" its means normal polygon wire frame check with vertex option by mouse right click then you will check the vertex with yellow color dots, the adjust the move option by pressing key "W" one place to another place.

Rigging 3d character:

The rigging is a heavy duty of by checking the 3d character modeling and texturing after that preparing joints to boy size putting in center through the viewpoint of axis x, y and z axis. Need to concentrate while doing the rigging which have axis joints by rotate the axis, to move the hands and legs of entire body system. All joints have different axis need to have direction Y-axis in legs joints, can take IK handles simple way to walk the body with legs, like wise same with hands, from shoulder to fingers or pan. Don't forget to give names for hands and legs it's very important.

When opening file of .OBJ to import file, only available modeling of 3d character by select and press key "3" to smooth, then you need to develop the rigging and controls if you have interested you can do it. Do practice two to three times, then only you can achieve the task of rigging.

Animation 3d character:

The animation is a part of action by one object to another object communication, in animation have or have 3d character modeling with rigging with control circles, by controls you can animate by pressing in time frames from 1 to 120 frames its around 5 seconds, one action like legs doing walk by press key "S", select time frame 1 movement to 4 then press key "S" one action is over, in legs. 


Conclusion:

As per my understanding is about the animation making with the help of Graphic editing is showing the movement of axis green, red and yellow its Y, X and Z-axis.
